What will we do?

Our goal is to create a supportive environment where trainees can feel safe to learn and grow as counsellors and take advantage of the knowledge and skills of other experienced counsellors and therapists.

Midland Therapy Group can offer student counsellors the opportunity to complete their placement hours in this supportive environment which offers low-cost, accessible counselling to the community.  We can offer supervision, peer support and networking opportunities as well as CPD and support to move on from training to qualified work. All clients will be assessed by a qualified counsellor before allocating them to a trainee, ensuring that they are appropriate referrals and a good match to the trainee experience and counselling approach.

Some of our previous placement students have stayed with us working as paid self-employed counsellors through the programme of progression we have in place. The more we grow our client base the more likely this is, so you really will get out what you put in by being involved supporting Midland Therapy Group to grow.

What we expect from you?

We want people to be part of the team and have a full experience of how a counselling organisation works; this means that we like our placements to be involved in more than just seeing their clients. This could be supporting at promotional events, working with colleagues to support the running of the service, attending meetings or other involvement depending on what we are developing in the future.
